Cardiopulmonary by-pass Cannulae

Nexus^Ⓡ is used to supply oxygenated blood systemically during cardiopulmonary bypass. Ideal for percutaneous placement   Various tip modifications, such as flanges or adjustable rings, support the cannula's fit to the aorta.  It has a unique tip configuration to facilitate insertion and drainage techniques while providing flexibility and ease of use. By providing optimum flow, it minimises thrombus formation and ensures safe performance of cardiopulmonary bypass.   They are made of polyvinylchloride (PVC) and are wire reinforced to prevent blockage due to kinking.  

It is used in three different regions:

• Distal ascending aorta
• Femoral artery
• Axillary artery

• Thin cannula walls support an excellent pressure/flow performance
• Reinforced side holes help reduce the risk of kinking
• Duration of use from 6 hours up to 30 days

Easy to use:

• The locking mechanism keeps the introducer in position during insertion
• Smooth transition from introducer to the cannula to support a safe cannula insertion
• The depth marks to control insertion depth, a stop ring to define maximum insertion depth
• Selectively hardened proximal cannula body reduces the risk of kinking after insertion.

The uniquely designed bulging basket minimises the potential for tissue obstruction of the cannula side holes.
